INI-CET 2025 (May 17) Exam – Memory-Based Questions, Answers & Detailed Analysis

  The INI-CET 2025 (Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test) for the July session was successfully conducted on May 17, 2025, by AIIMS New Delhi. This highly competitive postgraduate entrance exam is a gateway for medical aspirants seeking MD/MS/DM/MCh courses in prestigious institutions like AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER, and NIMHANS. With no official question paper or answer key released, thousands of candidates have come together to provide a reliable memory-based recall, offering valuable insights into the nature of the exam, question pattern, and difficulty level.

Based on multiple student reviews and expert inputs from coaching institutes, the exam was of moderate to high difficulty. It featured a balanced mix of clinical application-based scenarios, theoretical concepts, and image-based questions, which have now become a hallmark of the INI-CET format. Most candidates noted the exam to be time-consuming due to the high volume of image-based and integrated questions. Clinical integration was emphasized across subjects like Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Radiology, making conceptual clarity essential.

The subject-wise distribution remained consistent with previous years, covering all 19 core subjects of MBBS. Physiology, Medicine, Pathology, and Obstetrics & Gynecology were heavily represented, while subjects like Anesthesia, Psychiatry, Radiology, and Orthopedics contributed fewer but impactful questions. The inclusion of nearly 30–40 image-based questions tested the candidate’s diagnostic and interpretive skills, especially in areas like Ophthalmology, Pathology, and Radiology. These questions required both visual memory and strong theoretical grounding, reinforcing the importance of integrated preparation strategies.

One of the key takeaways from the 2025 exam was the shift toward real-life clinical scenarios. Many questions demanded a step-wise approach to diagnosis and treatment, reflecting the current trend of case-based assessments. This reinforces the need for aspirants to go beyond rote memorization and develop a deeper understanding of concepts and their clinical applications. Moreover, short subjects like FMT, Psychiatry, and Anesthesia, though less frequent, had high-yield questions that could significantly impact overall performance if ignored.
